Corruption Scheme in the Military Law Enforcement Service of Kherson Region: How Officials Received Bribes from Military Personnel

The State Bureau of Investigations uncovers corruption scheme in Military Law Enforcement Service

The State Bureau of Investigations has revealed a corruption scheme operating within the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Kherson region. The scheme involved the head of the group and his subordinate offering to help military personnel evade responsibility in cases of administrative proceedings in exchange for money.

Officials promised to either close the case or reduce the fine for a bribe, and threatened soldiers with maximum punishment if the bribe was refused. This led to the documentation of 11 cases of bribery. Currently, two officials from the Law Enforcement Service have been detained on suspicion of receiving undue advantage.

The State Bureau of Investigations is also looking into corruption within territorial recruiting centers, where officials are allegedly offering evasion of duty and «white tickets» in exchange for money. The investigation is ongoing to root out corruption and hold those involved accountable.
