Poland plans to launch military satellites

The Ministry of Defense of Poland Launches Military Satellite Program

The Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces of Poland intend to launch a series of military surveillance satellites next year. According to Deputy Minister of Defense, Cezary Tomczik, Poland plans to acquire a satellite system equipped with radar and optical technology for Earth observation in any atmospheric condition. Both foreign and Polish technologies will be utilized for this purpose.

Vice Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, Vladislav Kosiniak-Kamysz, emphasized the importance of developing space capabilities in light of the lessons learned from Ukraine’s experience with Russian aggression. Additionally, Poland is set to send its second astronaut into space in history, as part of an agreement with the European Space Agency for scientific experiments aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
