The Municipal Department of Urban Economy of Odessa Announces Repeat Tender for Capital Repair of Hazardous Building
The Municipal Department of Urban Economy of Odessa has announced a repeat tender for the capital repair of building No. 14 on Marinesko Descent, which has been deemed hazardous since the Brezhnev era. Applications to participate in the tender are being accepted until April 13, with the auction scheduled for the 15th.
The winner of the tender must complete the repairs by December 31, 2024. The repair work is estimated to cost almost 8 million UAH, significantly lower than the original plan for 2021. A previous contract for over 24 million UAH with LLC «BM GRANIT» was terminated due to force majeure circumstances arising from the start of a full-scale war.
Building No. 14 on Marinesko has long been in a state of disrepair, with issues such as old sewage, damp basements, and a leaky roof. The building is gradually sinking towards the Peresyp Bridge, with visible cracks on the walls indicating its deteriorating condition.
Local historian Alexander Babich, a resident in the area, has highlighted that the building sits above an underground lake and proper drainage is crucial for the stability of all structures in this part of Odessa.
