Man detained in Odesa region for selling ammunition from the conflict zone, faces up to seven years in prison

Police in the Odessa region have arrested a resident of the Velikodolynska united territorial community who illegally brought and sold ammunition imported from the conflict zone.

Illegal Sale of Ammunition

According to the press service of the Odessa region police, the man purchased two grenades, over 500 grams of plastic explosive, three fuses, eight detonator capsules, and parts of a detonator. In total, he sold this arsenal for 6,500 hryvnias.

Law enforcement officers seized all prohibited items and sent them for examination. During the search in the suspect’s house, an automatic weapon, two magazines, a scope, almost 70 bullets of various calibers, and over 100 grams of gunpowder were found.

Based on the evidence collected, the man is suspected of violating Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a punishment of three to seven years in prison. The investigation is ongoing.
