Improved Inflation Forecasts for Ukraine
In early April 2024, financial analysts and bankers raised their inflation forecasts for Ukraine for the next 12 months. According to the National Bank of Ukraine, they now expect inflation to reach 7.4%, which is 0.7% lower than the forecast in March. At the same time, bankers predict inflation at 9.3%, which is 1.1% lower than their forecast in January.
Signs of Decreasing Inflation
These improved forecasts indicate that the rise in prices will be lower than previously expected. In March, inflation in Ukraine decreased to 3.2%, the lowest level since 2020. The National Bank explained this decrease by the cheapening of raw materials, but they warn that this trend may be temporary, and inflation may accelerate again in the second half of the year.
