Mercury Discovered in Lviv Forest
In Lviv, on Vynnytska Street in the Shevchenkivskyi district, a local resident discovered four containers of mercury while walking in the forest belt. This information was reported by the municipal department of emergency situations, civil defense, and territorial defense.
Immediate Intervention
Rescuers from the State Emergency Service of Lviv region immediately intervened, removed the mercury, and carried out the cleaning and disinfection of the area. In total, 20 kilograms of mercury were confiscated.
Proper Disposal
The collected mercury was handed over for further disposal to the department of emergency situations, civil defense, and territorial defense of the Lviv City Council.
