Renamed alley in Kyiv in honor of a prominent historian

Renaming of Tropinin Lane to Anatoliy Kudrytskyi Lane

During the last session of the Kyiv City Council, it was announced that the Tropinin Lane in the Shevchenkivskyi district will be renamed after the famous historian Anatoliy Kudrytskyi. The decision was made in order to decolonize the toponymy of the capital.

Previously, this lane was named after the Russian artist Tropinin.

Anatoliy Kudrytskyi is known as a prominent historian, researcher of the history of Ukraine in the 20th century, publisher, and candidate of historical sciences. His choice for the new name was supported by the Kyiv City Council.

The city council reminded that changing the names of city objects does not entail reissuing documents.
