Biden signs law on aid to Ukraine: arms supplies could start this week

President Biden to Sign Bill Providing Aid to Ukraine

President Biden promises to sign a bill providing aid to Ukraine as soon as the document reaches his desk tomorrow in Washington, which will be today in Kyiv.

The US leader noted that after this, the transfer of weapons to Ukraine could begin as early as this week.

«I will sign this bill and address the American people as soon as it comes to my desk tomorrow, so that we can start sending weapons and equipment to Ukraine this week,» said the US leader.

According to him, a bipartisan majority in the Senate in the current vote «has joined the House of Representatives to respond to the call of history at this critical turning point.»

«Congress has passed my bill to strengthen our national security and send a message to the world about the strength of American leadership: we are resolutely standing up for democracy and freedom, against tyranny and oppression,» Biden said, quoting the White House.

As for providing Ukraine with defense assistance, according to the American president, «the need for this is urgent.»

«This important bill will make our country and the world safer, as we support our friends who are defending themselves against terrorists like Hamas, and tyrants like Putin,» added Biden.
