Latvia Supports Ukraine with Communication Equipment and Drones
Latvia has handed over communication equipment worth about 100,000 euros to Ukraine as part of the IT Coalition initiative, the Ministry of Defense announced.
«Thanks to our partners, we continue to meet the needs of our units at the tactical level. The new batch of equipment from Latvia will help establish communication on the front line. Grateful to allies for their timely support,» said Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Transformation, Digital Development, and Digitalization Kateryna Chernohorenko.
Earlier, Latvian Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš announced that within the drone coalition framework, Latvia plans to send drones to Ukraine worth a million euros «very soon.» The Prime Minister also mentioned that Latvia will provide 10 million euros for the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine.
Latvia is one of the largest donors of aid to Ukraine in terms of GDP. Together with Ukraine, Latvia founded the drone coalition — an organization of countries involved in the production and transfer of unmanned aerial vehicles.
