Apple Announces Beta Release of iOS 17.5 with New Anti-Tracking System

According to 9to5Mac, Apple has announced the release of the beta version of iOS 17.5 for developers, which includes a new anti-tracking system to protect devices from potential hackers. In the Find My app, a notification has been added that allows users to identify tracking accessories, even if they are not Apple or Find My certified. This feature will enable users to disable unauthorized accessories and prevent them from sharing their location.

Although this feature is not currently available in the beta version for users, it is expected to be included in the official release of iOS 17.5. Prior to this release, Apple and Google had previously announced joint efforts to create an «industry specification for combating unwanted tracking.» The update for iOS 17.5 is expected to be released in May 2024.
