French President Emmanuel Macron Warns of Numerous Threats to Europe
The French President Emmanuel Macron has issued a stark warning, stating that Europe is facing multiple enemies that pose a threat to its very existence. According to Macron, these threats come from both within and outside the continent.
Macron made these comments during a speech in Berlin, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the FRG constitution. He highlighted the challenges Europe faces in a rapidly changing world, particularly in the aftermath of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
«We are confronted with the largest number of external and internal threats in our history,» Macron emphasized. He stressed the importance of how Europe responds to these challenges in shaping its future.
«I fear for the future of our Europe,» he added.
The French President identified the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the growing popularity of far-right political parties, and the pressing issue of climate change as the main threats to Europe.
Macron’s state visit to the FRG, which began on Sunday and will last until Tuesday, May 28, marks the first visit of a French leader to Germany in 24 years.
