Hackers created fake email accounts for Donetsk Regional Administration employees

Hackers have created fake email accounts for some employees of the Donetsk Regional Administration. In addition, the perpetrators managed to send emails to multiple addresses inviting them to the 2024 Global Peace Summit, as if they were from the leadership of the Regional Administration, said the head of the Donetsk Regional Administration Vadim Filashkin.

«It is clear that the Donetsk Regional Administration and its head do not have the authority to make such invitations, and it is clear that these emails are fake. The Russian Federation is waging war against Ukraine not only directly on the battlefield, but also in cyberspace,»

emphasized Vadim Filashkin.

The head of the Donetsk Regional Administration stressed that such actions are one of the elements of cyber warfare aimed at creating chaos and causing harm to relations with international partners. The Donetsk Regional Administration calls on anyone who has received fake emails to understand this unpleasant incident.
