French football club Lille has changed its head coach after the end of the season.
The fourth team of Ligue 1 last season says goodbye to their coach Paulo Fonseca, who has been in charge of the team since July 2022.
The Portuguese specialist and the club did not reach an agreement on extending the contract, which ends on June 30 this year.
Under his leadership, Lille played in the quarter-finals of the Conference League last season, and in the next campaign, thanks to Fonseca, will play in the third qualifying round of the Champions League.
But who will lead the team in the future?
Lille has already answered this question by announcing the appointment of a new coach — 57-year-old expert Bruno Genesio.
The new coach of the French team is known for his work at Olympique Lyon and Rennes. Genesio has signed a contract with Lille until the end of the 2025/2026 season.
It should be noted that Fonseca was previously linked to a move to Milan, who will soon part ways with their coach Stefano Pioli.
