Mykolaiv region among leaders in issuing residential certificates to victims of Russian shelling

The Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine

reports the highest number of housing certificates issued for the purchase of new housing in the Mykolaiv region and two other regions affected by Russian shelling. The «eRecovery» program, launched last year, allowed Ukrainians whose homes were damaged by Russian aggression to receive financial compensation from the state. As of May 2023, 5846 applications for assistance in repairing housing damaged by Russian shelling have been filed in the Mykolaiv region alone.

More than three thousand housing certificates have been issued, with another 10 thousand applications currently under review, mainly from the Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Mykolaiv regions. The state has allocated 3.8 billion hryvnias for the purchase of building materials and housing restoration, with 2803 local residents of Mykolaiv region receiving compensation for damaged property totaling 248 million hryvnias.

However, the reconstruction work is progressing slowly, with repairs completed on only 10 percent of the multi-story buildings damaged by shelling.
