The National Bank of Ukraine Increases Dollar Exchange Rate

The National Bank of Ukraine has announced an increase in the exchange rate of the dollar to the hryvnia, which has been rising for the second day in a row. According to data published on the regulator’s website, the official exchange rate as of April 10, 2024 amounted to 38.9945 hryvnias per 1 dollar, which is 0.0063 hryvnias higher compared to the previous day.

In the interbank market, the exchange rate dropped by 1 kopeck to 38.94-38.99 hryvnias per dollar (buying-selling) compared to the previous day. In the cash market segment, the exchange rate increased by 5 kopecks to 39.35 hryvnias per dollar.

It is noted that according to the NBU data, the average selling rate of cash dollars in Ukraine in March 2024 increased by 1.6% to 38.94 hryvnias. Thus, in March, the cash dollar exchange rate exceeded the previous year’s figure of 38.55 hryvnias per dollar. Compared to December 2023, the rate increased by 1.11 hryvnias. These data provide context for the annual changes in the dollar exchange rate. It should be reminded that the average selling rate of cash dollars in Ukraine for 2023 decreased by 5.9% to 37.83 hryvnias. The dollar exchange rate decreased after rising by 47.7% throughout 2022, from 27.21 to 40.19 hryvnias per dollar.
