Miss World 2024: Russia Banned from International Beauty Contest
At the final of the 71st Miss World 2024 International Beauty Contest, which will take place in India on March 9, Russia was not allowed to participate. This decision came after the head of the Miss Ukraine organizing committee, Veronika Shchiptsova, reported on Instagram that the organizers responded to Ukraine’s appeal not to allow representatives of Russia to compete in any international competitions.
«Friends, I wanted to announce this news later and personally thank the head of the Miss World contest for it. But today on social media I saw a terrible act of a Russian woman during another beauty contest and I cannot remain silent. One of the Ukrainian girls at the world contest was humiliated by a representative of the aggressor country. Many people sent me this video and asked about our committee’s reaction,» Shchiptsova said.
She added that the Ukrainian organizing committee had already approached the beginning of full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine with a request not to admit the aggressor country to beauty contests that the Ukrainian committee collaborates with.
