SBU Suspicions: Oleg Deripaska and Ukrainian Managers Linked to Production of Russian Weapons

The Security Service of Ukraine announces suspicions against Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska

The Security Service of Ukraine has announced suspicions against Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska and Ukrainian managers working for him in a case involving the production of Russian weaponry.

Oleg Deripaska has been declared suspicion in absentia, while two managers of the company «Hlukhivsky Quarry Quarzite» have been detained. In 2012, they helped Deripaska illegally appropriate production capacities of the quarry, despite a ban on their sale.

Even after the start of the invasion, the mining company continued to supply large quantities of mineral rocks to Russia, used in the production of weapons for the war against Ukraine.

«The raw materials obtained from Ukraine were sold by Deripaska’s companies to military-industrial enterprises in Russia for the production of ballistic missiles, including the ‘Iskander’ type,» the SBU reported.

In addition, the exported products from Ukraine were used to manufacture strike drones and radar systems.

Oleg Deripaska is suspected in three articles of the Criminal Code: organizing money laundering, financing actions aimed at overthrowing the state system in Ukraine, and misappropriation of property by abusing official position.

In addition to Deripaska, the director of the Russian aluminum production plant «Rusal» has also received suspicions in absentia. The director of the Ukrainian company, along with an accomplice, will also be held criminally responsible.
