The candidate for the position of European Commission chief from the European Green Party, Terry Reintke (Germany), believes:
that the strengthening of positions of far-right parties is the greatest threat to European security. Reintke stated this during the Eurovision Debate-2024 debates among candidates for the position of European Commission chief, which took place with the participation of representatives of leading European parties, Ukrinform reports.
«When it comes to what is the greatest threat to our security,» Reintke said,
«it is the strengthening of the positions of right-wing radical politicians. We see that right-wing politicians want to discredit the European Union and destroy the foundation on which peace and prosperity in Europe have been built over the past decades. We hear what right-wing radical politicians say, who cooperate with Putin and China — they want to harm our interests,» said the candidate for the position of EC president.
In her opinion, the main strategy for strengthening European security should be
to prevent the «shift to the right» of the European political landscape.
