Ukrainian citizens living abroad must return to Ukraine before turning 17 to obtain a draft certificate at the military enlistment office

This was announced by the representative of the Poltava Regional Territorial Recruitment Center Roman Istomin. However, conscription notices will not be sent abroad, as educational institutions should inform young men about the need to register in the respective territorial centers.

Istomin emphasized that the conscription process does not automatically mean mobilization, but ignoring the requirements without valid reasons can lead to administrative punishment. Fines for refusing to register for conscription range from 510 to 850 hryvnias, and for repeated violations within a year, a fine of 1.7 thousand hryvnias may be imposed.

This initiative focuses on the importance of ensuring the participation of young citizens in the country’s defense capabilities, regardless of their place of residence. The responsibility for fulfilling military duty lies with every citizen, contributing to the maintenance of national security and defense.
