Jake Sullivan on US-Ukraine Security Agreement
Jake Sullivan, White House National Security Advisor, expressed doubts that Donald Trump will continue to support and respect the security agreement signed between the US and Ukraine after winning the election. He noted that in life and democracy, there are no absolute guarantees, and situations can change.
Sullivan believes that Trump is unlikely to cancel the agreement due to strong support for Ukraine in Congress and among the American public. He emphasized the bipartisan approach that was evident in the voting for Ukrainian support in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
The advisor also expressed confidence that Joe Biden, as president, will adhere to the terms of the agreement throughout his term, and he expects to remain in office for another four years.
In June, Presidents Volodymyr Zelensky and Joe Biden signed an agreement aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s security and its integration into Euro-Atlantic structures.
