Russian Forces Targeting Ukrainian Cities
Russian forces continue to attack Ukrainian cities, with a particular focus on energy facilities.
Surviving Winter Without Power Outages
Despite Russia’s attempts to destroy Ukraine’s energy system, Ukraine managed to survive the winter without mass power outages. U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink reported this on the official Telegram account of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine on Thursday, February 29.
«In the final hours of winter, there is electricity in Ukraine — a great victory, as Russia has been attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure for two winters,» noted the U.S. diplomat.
Russia continues its daily attacks, but Ukrainians still have light and warmth.
Support for Ukraine
The recent success of Ukraine in maintaining electricity demonstrates the importance of support from allies, including the United States. The U.S. Senate recently approved a package providing over $60 billion to Ukraine, mainly for military assistance. However, the bill still needs to pass the House of Representatives.
Speaker Mike Johnson has announced an almost two-week recess without considering the bill on assistance to Ukraine, despite the urgency of the situation. Support for Ukraine is crucial, and every second counts.
