Ukrainian President Introduces New Joint Forces Commander in Donetsk
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, along with Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, recently visited the Donetsk region to introduce the new commander of the Joint Forces, General Andriy Hnatov. Zelensky highlighted Hnatov’s youth and extensive front line experience, emphasizing the importance of these qualities in successfully carrying out tasks to liberate occupied territories and protect Ukrainian soldiers.
During the visit, Zelensky met with military personnel from the 110th and 47th brigades and discussed security measures and support for the local population. The President also emphasized the urgent need for decisions on water supply, social issues, and evacuation procedures.
Zelensky announced plans for a separate meeting in Kyiv to address the issue of government officials taking action in complex communities near the front line. He warned that consequences would be faced by those neglecting their assigned duties for an extended period of time.
The change in leadership for the Joint Forces of Ukraine followed a statement by the chief of staff of the Azov Brigade, calling for an investigation into the actions of the previous commander, causing tension among military personnel in the region.
